
Bishop Robert Denzell Kellam, was born in Martinsville, VA to the late Bishop Robert L. and Christine D. Kellam. He is the oldest of six children. He was educated in the Henry Co. School system and graduated from Laurel Park High School in June 1972. Upon graduation, he attended Virginia State University in Petersburg, Virginia. He completed his studies in 1976 with a BS Degree in Business Administration and a Minor in Accounting.
Bishop Kellam accepted the call into the Ministry in April 1997. He preached his initial sermon on September 6, 1997 at Mt. Olivet Apostolic Church, where the pastor was his father, Bishop Robert L. Kellam. He was ordained on July 25, 1998 at the Convention of the United Churches of Jesus Apostolic. The convention was held in Richmond, Virginia.
While in Front Royal, he married his lovely wife, Anita D. (Townley), on July 16, 1983. They have four children: one son, Tylon; and three daughters, April, Denesha, and Tamiya. There are four grandchildren; Tiarra (deceased), Trent, Tamare’ and Destiny.
After returning to Martinsville in 2008, Elder Kellam worked as an associate minister at Mt. Olivet Apostolic Church until November 2014. In 2015, he founded the Spirit of Christ Worship Center in which the first service was held on January 4, 2015.
